Joint Program in Transfusion Medicine - Education
Residency Training Overview
The JPTM provides Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine training for residents seeking Board certification in Clinical Pathology (CP), as well as for residents pursuing Board certification in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) at the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The standard training rotation is 3 months; additional advanced training can be arranged individually. Residents work closely with fellows and faculty throughout their rotation. Several mandatory didactic sessions are arranged to cover core material within transfusion medicine and blood banking.
