Joint Program in Transfusion Medicine - Clinical Service
Clinical Service at the Brigham & Women's Hospital
The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Transfusion Service includes a Blood Bank, and an Apheresis Service / Blood Donor Center.
The Apheresis Service / Blood Donor Center collects whole blood and red blood cells in addition to a wide range of therapeutic treatments including plasmapheresis, red cell exchange, therapeutic phlebotomy, therapeutic leukoapheresis and photopheresis. The Transfusion Service contributes to a broad range of services in the hospital, in particular to Bone Marrow Transplant, Hematology/Oncology, Cardiac Surgery, and Neurology.
